Parking on Campus

The Medford/Somerville campus has a number of parking facilities on campus. Visit Tufts Parking Services for more information on parking permits, visitor parking passes, and parking maps of the campus.

There is limited street parking around campus; most spots are designated as permit-only for Medford/Somerville residents. Residential permits are availble through the Somerville Department of Traffic and Parking or the City of Medford.

Campus Shuttles

Tufts University runs three shuttles during the academic year: from the Medford Campus to Davis Square, along Boston Avenue on the Medford Campus, and from the Medford Campus to the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and New England Conservatory.

The Tufts campus shuttle makes trips between multiple stops on the Medford campus and Davis Square at intervals of 15 minutes or less throughout the academic year. The shuttle is also free for all Tufts community members.

Public Transportation

The public transportion option in Boston is the Metro Boston Transit Authority (MBTA), or the “T.” The Davis Square subway station is located a 15-20 minute walk from campus and many buses to other areas of Medford, Somerville, and Boston stop less than a block outside of campus. Visit the MBTA website for an extensive list of all public transit options, prices, and schedules.

Passes

Graduate students on the Medford Campus may purchase a pre-paid semester T pass (for 4 months) for 11% below the usual rate.
