M.A. in French

The Department of Romance Languages offers a Master of Arts in French. The degree, which can be completed in a year, usually leads to a secondary school teaching position or to a doctoral program at a major university, though it does not include teaching licensure.

The Department of Education, in collaboration with the Department of Romance Languages, offers a separate Master of Arts in Teaching in French (see M.A.T. in Middle and High School Education).

The application deadline for fall enrollment is February 15, and the deadline for spring enrollment is October 15.

GRE General Test scores strongly recommended. A writing sample in French is required, and references from instructors in French preferred.
