You’ve Been Admitted! Here is What to Expect Next

The very first step is to complete your decision reply form. This form can be found on your application status portal, and on it, you can respond to your offer by selecting accept or decline. (We obviously hope you will accept!) Next, you’ll need to submit your enrollment deposit. For some students, the link to deposit will appear right after submitting the decision reply form, and for others, it may take a couple of hours to appear. Don’t worry! Just give it some time and keep checking the portal until you see it.
There are two options to consider when paying your deposit: a domestic payment or an international payment. If you’re living in the U.S. or will be paying with an American credit card, you should choose domestic payment. If not, you should select international payment. Our international payments are processed via Flywire, so it may take a few days for the payment to be processed and received. Once you’ve initiated this process, it will be reflected on your record.
Two to three days after successful receipt of your deposit, a link to activate your Tufts email address will be available on your status portal. This step is important! Activation of your credentials will make you an official incoming student in our system and will also allow you to proceed with other important steps, like beginning your visa certificate process.
Once your credentials are active, it’s official! You’re now considered an enrolling student. Your other enrollment requirements and general to-do list will now appear on your status portal. You’ll see links and due dates for medical forms, tuition bills, and course registration, among other things.
Course registration is often one of the most exciting items on the list, but please note that students do need to meet with their assigned academic advisor before registering. This process varies by department and program, but generally, you can expect to receive an email from your department letting you know who your advisor is and when you can expect to meet with them. If you have any questions about this process, it’s best to email your department directly.
If you have any questions, you are always welcome to contact the Graduate Admissions Office, and we’ll help resolve your problem or point you to the correct contact. We also encourage you to check out our graduate student resources and how to apply for aid.
