The MA in Classics with Teaching Licensure offers students an opportunity to pursue intensive study of the classical world, while acquiring the credentials for a career in public education or further graduate study.
As a student in the MA in Classics with Teaching Licensure Program, you will expand your knowledge of languages, history, and archaeology, as well as gain extensive research experience in classical studies. Graduates go on to pursue careers in secondary school education with Massachusetts licensure (grades 5-12) and pursue further study in PhD programs. Students typically complete the program in two or three years, and benefit from supervised teaching experience offered through the Education Department at Tufts. The program follows Massachusetts requirements for initial teaching licensure.
See Tuition and Financial Aid information for GSAS Programs. Note: This program is eligible for federal loans and Tufts tuition scholarships.
