Graduate Community

At Tufts, you'll find many opportunities to find support and connect socially with other graduate students across the university. Our graduate school community is diverse, with students coming from all over the country and the world, sharing an array of academic and personal backgrounds with one another. We're also collaborative, sharing a commitment to solving real-world problems, together in the lab, in the classroom, and in the community. This atmosphere extends across campus too, where you'll find artistic, innovative activity everywhere.

Welcome from the Graduate Student Council

Hello, and a huge welcome to the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Tufts University! We are the Graduate Student Council (GSC), and we serve the graduate community within the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, including the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, and the School of Engineering. The GSC is the student government that advocates for student issues, as well as provides: social events, community outreach, academic events, career development, and student life improvements.

We want to help make your Tufts experience the best possible!

  • Graduate Student Organizations (GSOs) are a good way to get involved and get to know people, either in your department or those with shared interests. GSOs receive funding from the GSC to host social, professional development, and outreach events for their members, and the events are open to all graduate students in the SoE, GSAS, and SMFA.
  • Our Curtis Hall lounge offers a grad-student-only social and relaxation space, conveniently located at 474 Boston Ave. Bring your Student ID for access!
  • Our West Hall lounge (entrance @ ground level, behind the building) offers a grad-student-only study space, free printing, a conference room, and a snack bar. You can also purchase tickets to various events both on campus and around Boston. Bring your Student ID for access! Please note, West Hall is currently temporarily closed.

Feel free to send us an email at, visit the GSC website, or our Facebook page.

If you want a taste of graduate student life, subscribe to our email newsletter for upcoming events and meetings on our homepage. You can also like our Facebook page, or feel free to visit our online calendar for upcoming virtual meetings and events. We look forward to meeting you!
